Nano-Yield™

Nanoliquid® Technology is designed to deliver more of the crop inputs needed for maximum yield. Nanotechnology makes it possible for big impacts to happen on a small scale due to the unique physical properties of nanoparticles.


Nano-Yield nanoliquid technology works as a delivery system for crop inputs. While most nutrients enter the plant cell wall through diffusion or active transport, the nanoliquid particle will load the molecules and then bulk transport them through the wall by endocystosis. With every application, nanoliquid delivers more. Nanoliquid products are highly compatible with fertilizers, biostimulants, and pesticide products. The increased product performance provided by nanoliquid products results in higher yields and healthier crops.

What is a nanoparticle?

A nanoparticle is usually defined as a particle that is between 1 and 100 nanometers in diameter. Nano-Yield™ nanoparticles are between 10 and 100 nanometers.

Why are Nano-Yield nanoparticles special?

Each nanoparticle carries thousands of fertilizer ions or active ingredient molecules rapidly into the plant cell by a plant mechanism called endocytosis. While conventional products are only absorbed through diffusion and active transport, only nanoparticles are taken up via endocytosis.


Loading and unloading nanoparticles

Nano-Yield nanoparticles are designed to be loaded with any common fertilizer ion or molecule. The particles carry these materials into the plant and release them once inside.

Improves foliar and soil applications

When soil applied, Nano-Yield nanoparticles stay in solution or loosely cling to soil colloids making them able to deliver more nutrients to the plant. When applied by foliar application, Nano-Yield nanoparticles adhere to plant surfaces enhancing penetration through the cuticle. Both foliar and root applications will benefit from endocytosis.

  • What is nanoliquid technology?

    Nanoliquid technology is a patented carrier additive that uses nanoparticles to load and carry any liquid products in a tank mixture. Loaded nanoparticles deliver a higher volume of crop inputs when applied to plants.

  • How does nanoliquid technology work?

    • Loading: Nanoparticles load with fertilizers and crop protection products instantly through ionic exchange on the charged surface of the nanoparticle.
    • Delivery: Loaded nanoparticles are rapidly absorbed into leaves and roots through a process called endocytosis.
    • Release: Products are released and available to the plant after the nanoparticle is absorbed.

  • Do I need to worry about compatibility?

    Nanoliquid products are highly compatible with other fertilizer and chemical products.  Contact your local sales representative for information about specific products.

  • How have nanoliquid products been tested?

    Nanoliquid technology research and trials are ongoing in cooperation with research institutions and large growers. Nano-Yield™ has performed and sponsored hundreds of trials on various crops. Contact your sales representative for more information.

  • Do I need to change my current fertility program?

    No, nanoliquid technology enhances the efficiency of your current crop inputs without changing your program.

  • What kind of ROI (return on investment) should growers expect?

    Growers who add nanoliquid products with every application can expect improvements in crop yield and quality, as well as improved control of weeds, diseases, and insect pests. Growers report an ROI starting at 3:1 and much higher in many cases.

  • Are there any restrictions on application to certain crops?

    Generally no, however some products are registered differently depending on your state. Contact your sales representative for more information.

  • Why are nanoliquid rates from only 2-6 oz per acre?

    1 oz of nanoliquid™ contains billions of nanoparticles available to load with crop inputs. Aqua-Yield® formulations target a low volume use rate to reduce packaging waste and increase ease of use.
