NANOTECHNOLOGY FOR DRY FERTILIZER

NanoCote™

Cultivating Growth with Advanced

Nano-Coating Technology

NanoCote's nanoparticle technology enhances the delivery of macro and micronutrients in dry fertilizers through a versatile coating process. The core technology involves a flexible biodegradable coating that disperses nutrients loaded with nanoparticles to boost plant uptake.

NanoCote’s technology makes it simple to coat any fertilizer particle without specialized equipment. The rapid curing process requires no additional heat or specialized equipment.

Once applied to the farm, NanoCote dissolves quickly,

distinguishing it from other coated fertilizer technologies that may remain encapsulated.

NanoCote Core is the ultimate solution for enhanced crop growth, with studies showing a 3:1 ROI.

Evenly coats every particle with nutrient enhancing nanoparticles

Significantly reduces dust
and material buildup

Can replace most nitrogen stabilizing technologies

Increases nutrient
uptake and crop yields

Reduces 99% of Dust in Blending/Manufacturing:

NanoCote Core reduces 99% of dust in blending and manufacturing, improving working conditions and reducing worker and equipment exposure.

Reduces Fertilizer Buildup on Equipment:

NanoCote Core reduces fertilizer buildup on equipment, reducing maintenance costs and increasing equipment lifespan. This also reduces downtime, which is critical during the short time frame blenders must serve the growers.

HOW IT WORKS

Biodegradable coating protects the particle from environmental losses and surrounds the fertilizer with nanoparticles.

NanoCote releases with moisture and helps solubilize the nutrients in the soil.

NanoParticles are “primed” to load when the fertilizer solubilizes with water.

Solubilized ions and molecules load onto the nanoparticles, supercharging them with key crop nutrients.

Nutrient loaded nanoparticles protect the nutrients and facilitate faster uptake through endocytosis.

I don't have any reservation of telling anyone to put 3 quarts of NanoCote Core on a ton of fertilizer, it works great.

Sonny Malone, Sugar Creek Ag, KY

We had positive yield results with a good ROI on every trial we did with NanoCote in 2023. We will be putting it on significantly more acres this year and are excited to see the results.

Nanoparticles in Fertilizers: Revolutionizing Plant Growth In the quest for sustainable agricultural practices, scientists are delving into the realm of nanotechnology to enhance the efficiency of fertilizers and optimize plant growth. Nanoparticles, which are tiny structures at the nanometer scale, are being integrated into fertilizers to revolutionize the way nutrients are delivered into plants. This innovative approach has become a game-changing solution for improving crop yields and enhancing the quality of agricultural crops. Understanding Nanoparticles Nanoparticles are minuscule particles with dimensions ranging from 1 to 100 nanometers (see figure 1). At this scale, materials exhibit unique physical, chemical, and biological properties that differ from their bulk counterparts. These properties make nanoparticles highly versatile and applicable in various fields, including agriculture.

FAQs

  • Who is NanoCote?

NanoCote is the first coating company for granular fertilizers that contains nanoparticles.

  • What is NanoCote Core?

NanoCote Core is a liquid coating that can coat most granular fertilizers on the market today. Core uses nanoparticles to help enhance the fertilizer it is coated on to produce a better yield. Core is flexible and easy to integrate into blending operations.

  • What are nanoparticles?

A nanoparticle is  defined as a particle that is between 1 and 100 nanometers in diameter. Core nanotechnology particles are between 10 and 100 nanometers. Each Core nanoparticle carries thousands of fertilizer ions or molecules rapidly into the plant cell by a plant mechanism called endocytosis. While conventional products are only absorbed through diffusion and active transport, nanoparticles are taken up via endocytosis. Core nanoparticles are designed to be loaded with any common fertilizer ion or molecule. The particles carry these materials into the plant and release them once inside.

  • What are the products?

Core is our newest and latest product. Stay tuned for more!

  • What's the difference between Core and other coatings?

Core works for all fertilizers, enhancing them with its patented nano-coating technology. If the fertilizer has other coatings such as micros, Core enhances those micros as well. Not only does Core help farmers yield more but it helps blenders reduce dust and keep equipment clean.

  • How do nanoparticles work for granular fertilizer?

Core evenly coats every prill during the blending process then applied to the soil with conventional applicating equipment. When water comes in contact with the prill, it goes into solution and the surrounding nanoparticles begin to “load” the nutrient ions.

After application, Core nanoparticles loosely attach to soil colloids, allowing them to effectively deliver nutrients to the plant. The nanoparticles are absorbed via endocytosis, resulting in increased nutrient uptake and improved plant growth.

By using Core, farmers benefit from enhanced nutrient delivery and uptake for their plants.

  • What's the application rate?

Apply Core at a rate of 90 to 120 fl oz per 1 ton of prilled or granular fertilizer. Application rates are dependent on fertilizer particle size, particle shape, and loading potential.

  • What kind of ROI (return on investment) should growers expect?

Growers who have added nanoliquid™ products expect improvements in crop yield and quality, as well as improved control of weeds, diseases, and insect pests. Growers report an ROI starting at 3:1 and much higher in many cases.

  • Where is NanoCote Core registered?

NanoCote Core is registered in the United States and will be available internationally sometime in 2024.

  • How do I apply NanoCote Core?

No specialized or additional injecting equipment is required for appying NanoCote products.

  • Is there a liquid fertilizer with nanoparticles?

Yes! Aqua-Yield® is our US nanoliquid™ brand.

Nano-Yield™ is our international nanoliquid™ brand.

  • Does this work on turfgrass?

Yes! Turf NanoTech™ (TNT) is our Turf brand. We have data trials to show how successful it is with NanoCote. Check out our Data Trials tab on our website.
